How Can I Use Files from Box in SmartSuite?

SmartSuite’s integration with Box allows you to attach files directly to:

  • Files & Images Fields: Select files from Box and attach them to a field.

  • SmartDocs: Add attachments, images, or videos from Box.

  • Comments: Include Box files as attachments in your comments.

  • Solution Guides: Attach Box files to SmartDocs accessed from Solution drop-down menus.

  • Communications Center Emails: Upload file attachments for emails directly from Box.

Selecting Box as a source opens the file picker, where you can choose your desired files.


Connecting to Box

To connect your Box account to SmartSuite:

  1. Open the File Picker:

    • Use any feature that supports file attachments (e.g., Files & Images field).

  2. Click Connect Box:

    • You’ll be prompted to log in on Box’s website.

  3. Log In to Box:

    • Enter your email and password, or use single sign-on if configured.

  4. Grant Access:

    • Approve SmartSuite’s access to read and write files.

  5. Select Files:

    • Browse your Box folders, select files, and click Upload to add them to SmartSuite.


Using the File Picker

Attaching Files in Communications Center Emails

  1. Click Attach File while composing a new email.

  2. Select Box from the available file sources in the file picker.

  3. Choose your files and attach them to the email.

Adding Files to SmartDocs

  1. Type / at the start of a new line in your SmartDoc.

  2. Start typing insert and select an option:

    • Insert Image

    • Insert Video

    • Insert Attachment

  3. Use the file picker to attach files from Box or other supported sources, including:

    • Facebook

    • Instagram

    • Unsplash (royalty-free images)
