What is OneDrive?
OneDrive is Microsoft’s cloud-based file hosting service, offering both personal and business plans. It allows users to:
Store and access files online from any device.
Synchronize data across multiple devices.
Collaborate on files in real time.
OneDrive is included with Microsoft 365 subscriptions and is also available as a free service with limited features.
SmartSuite offers two OneDrive connection options for accessing your files:
OneDrive: Formerly known as “SkyDrive,” this option lets you connect using your free Microsoft account (such as Microsoft Live or Hotmail).
OneDrive Business: Choose this option if you’re using a Microsoft 365 business account to access your OneDrive files.
Using OneDrive Files in SmartSuite
SmartSuite’s integration with OneDrive lets you:
Attach Files to Records: Use the Files & Images field to select and attach files from OneDrive.
Insert Files into SmartDocs: Add images, videos, or attachments from OneDrive into SmartDocs.
Add Files to Comments: Upload attachments to comments using files from OneDrive.
Use in Solution Guides: Attach files to SmartDocs accessed through the Solution drop-down menu.
Add to Emails: Attach files from OneDrive in Communications Center emails.
Wherever the file picker is available, you can access your OneDrive files.
Connecting to OneDrive
Open the File Picker: Select a field or option that supports file uploads.
Choose OneDrive: In the file picker control, select the OneDrive or OneDrive Business option.
Sign In to Microsoft:
Enter your Microsoft account credentials.
Complete additional authentication steps if required (e.g., entering a code sent to your email).
Access OneDrive: Once connected, your OneDrive folders and files will appear in the file picker.
Uploading Files from OneDrive
Select the file(s) you want to upload from your OneDrive folders.
Click Upload to add the files to SmartSuite.
Your files will be attached to the selected record, comment, or input field.
