Enterprise and Signature plans are managed with our Sales team rather than through self-service checkout. This article explains how billing and seats work on these plans, how seats are counted, what happens when you add or reactivate members, and how to change your seat count.

How Enterprise Plans Are Purchased
Enterprise is a sales-assisted plan. On Team, Pro, and Trial workspaces, Enterprise appears on the plan selector as a Contact Sales option, it doesn't show pricing and can't be selected or checked out. Choosing Contact Sales opens your email client with a message pre-addressed to sales@smartsuite.com.
To move to Enterprise, get in touch with Sales and they'll set up your subscription.
Managing Your Plan (Enterprise & Signature)
On Enterprise and Signature workspaces, the Plans & Billing tab is streamlined because your subscription is managed by contract. You won't see:
A Change Plan option
The billing cycle or next billing date
A link to cancel the workspace
Your seat quantity is shown as read-only. To make any change, contact Sales.
How Seats Are Counted
Your workspace has a fixed number of Licensed Seats set by your contract. Seats are tracked as:
Licensed, total seats in your subscription.
Active, members currently occupying a seat.
Invited, pending invitations. On Enterprise and Signature, an invited member counts as active as soon as the invite is sent, whether or not it's been accepted.
Available, seats you can still use.
The formula is:
Available = Licensed − (Active + Invited)
For example, with 20 Licensed, 10 Active, and 5 Invited, you have 5 Available seats. Deleting an invited member frees the seat back up (Active goes down, Available goes up).
Because invites consume seats immediately, your Available count always reflects your true remaining capacity.
Adding Members
You can invite members as long as at least one seat is Available.
If seats are available, open the Invite members modal and add one or more email addresses.
SmartSuite checks that the invite won't take you below zero available seats. If you add more emails than you have seats for, the Send Invite button is disabled and a validation message appears. Remove emails until you're within your available seats, and the button re-enables.
When all Licensed Seats are used, clicking Invite shows a message directing you to Contact Sales (which opens an email to sales@smartsuite.com) to add more seats.
Invitations on Enterprise and Signature don't show self-service billing details, there's no per-month price, proration, or "billed at $X" messaging, because seat changes are handled through your contract.
Reactivating or Restoring Members
Both of these actions consume a Licensed Seat, so they require an available seat:
Reactivating an inactive member, if no seats are available, the status control is disabled with the tooltip "No Licensed Seats available. Contact Sales."
Restoring a deleted member from the Bin, if no seats are available, the Restore button is disabled with the same tooltip.
In both cases, free up a seat (remove another member or invite) or contact Sales to add seats.
Changing Your Seat Count
Enterprise and Signature seat counts are set by your contract and don't change automatically, they aren't adjusted based on your active member count, including at renewal. To increase or decrease seats, contact sales@smartsuite.com and our team will update your subscription.
For Team, Pro, and Trial Workspaces
Self-service checkout for Team and Pro is unchanged. The only difference is that Enterprise now appears as a Contact Sales option on the plan selector, visible, but without pricing and not selectable.
Frequently asked questions
How is Enterprise priced?
Enterprise is custom priced through Sales; the pricing page shows Contact sales rather than a per-seat price. Enterprise plans that meet a minimum fee can be billed annually by invoice.
Can I change my seat count myself?
No. On Enterprise and Signature the seat quantity is read-only; contact sales@smartsuite.com to add or remove seats.
How is Signature different?
Signature is priced per solution rather than per user; terms, minimums and support levels are agreed in your contract.
