Getting Started with Dashboards

Add a dashboard button that opens a new record in the table you choose, with default values already filled in.

Dashboard Button Action: Create a Record

Dashboard settings: navigation tabs, tab deep links, action buttons, footers, background color and page width.

Dashboard Settings

Export a dashboard to PDF from its Export option: choose the format, layout and font size, then select Export to PDF.

Filters in View-Based Widgets

Create a dashboard, add widgets from the Widget Library, set navigation tabs and style, share it by link and move it between tables.

How to Create a Dashboard

Share a dashboard with people outside SmartSuite through a read-only link or embed code from Share View, with a passcode option.

Public Dashboard Sharing

The drill-in grid behind a dashboard widget is editable: change cells, add records and run bulk actions without leaving the dashboard.

Editable Drill-in Grids

Create, set up, filter, share and export dashboards.

Working with dashboards

Bar charts compare categories with horizontal bars; choose standard, stacked or 100 percent stacked and set values and grouping.

Bar Chart

Build a Column Chart view or widget: standard, stacked or 100 percent stacked columns with values, grouping, totals and a benchmark line.

Column Chart

Line charts track values over time; pick the values, a Group By field for the X axis, and add totals or a benchmark line.

Line Chart

Area charts show how values change over time with shading under the line; Group By is required and a date field works best.

Area Chart

Pie charts show each category as a share of the whole; set one value with Group By, or several values, plus totals and labels.

Pie Chart

Donut charts show shares of a whole with a hole in the center; set one value with Group By or several values without.

Donut Chart

Scatter charts plot two numeric fields as dots to show correlations and outliers; group by a field to color the dots.

Scatter Chart

Bubble charts plot three numeric fields: X axis, Y axis and bubble size; group by a field to color the bubbles.

Bubble Chart

A Heatmap Chart in Chart View colors each cell by value across two axes; set the value, X and Y fields and the sort.

Chart View: Heat Map

Use a Lookup field as the value or the Group By of a Chart View or Chart Widget: numbers, dates, users, linked records and lists.

Using Lookup Fields in Charts

Click a value in a chart's legend to hide it from the chart, click it again to bring it back, and click its color dot to change the color.

Chart Types

Use the toolbar to pick a view type, choose fields, sort, filter, group, spotlight, resize rows and cards, and find text in a view.

How do I build and customize a saved view: Saved View (Reporting) Toolbar

Use Fields to Display in the view toolbar to choose and order the fields a Grid, Card or Kanban view shows, then save.

Fields to Display

Sort records in a view by up to 15 fields; text sorts A to Z, numbers and dates ascending or descending, select values in list order.

Sorting

Filter a view with field, operator and value conditions, AND/OR groups, calendar periods, rolling ranges and Current User.

Filtering records using conditions

Combine And and Or conditions in a view filter with filter groups, nested up to three levels.

Advanced Filtering Using Filter Groups

Group records by any field from the Group control, nest up to three levels, collapse groups, and see how each view type shows groups.

How do I group records in a view: Grouping

Spotlight colors records or fields in a view by a Status or Single Select value, or by conditions you set.

Spotlight

Set the row height in Grid and Gantt views and the card size in Card and Kanban views from the toolbar Row Size control.

Row & Card Size

The Find control in the view toolbar highlights matching cells or records in a view and is never saved with the view.

Find Control

Filter a saved view's Assigned To field by Current User so one view shows each member only their own work.

Filter by Current User

Hide a view's toolbar from the three-dot menu next to + New Record by clearing Show View Toolbar; select it again to bring the toolbar back.

This prototype demo is aware that you are reading “{title}”. It can point you back to the current article, but a production article-aware Fin contract is still follow-up work.

Prototype article-aware answer

Because you already asked about invitations, this prototype demo can add the follow-up: use the role selector before sending each invite to limit access to the teammate responsibilities.

Prototype role-limiting follow-up

This prototype demo suggests starting with your workspace profile, inviting the team members who need access, and then connecting the integrations you use.

Prototype getting-started answer

In this prototype demo, integrations are configured from workspace settings. Choose the integration, connect the account, and review the enabled permissions.

Prototype integrations answer

In this prototype demo, invite teammates from workspace settings, then choose the access each teammate needs before sending the invitation.

This prototype demo does not have a scripted answer for that question yet. Try asking how to invite your team or open a source article. No production Fin API was called.
