Updated Toolbar and Navigation Layout

The Calendar widget toolbar has been updated to create a more natural and consistent navigation experience. The Previous and Next arrows are now grouped together on the left side of the date display, and the current date label has also moved to the left.

This updated layout makes it easier to scan and navigate through time periods, especially when working quickly inside a dashboard. It also brings the Calendar widget more in line with the layout conventions used across other SmartSuite widgets.

What changed

  • The Prev and Next arrows now appear together on the left

  • The current date display is now left-aligned instead of centered

  • Navigation feels more consistent across widget sizes and layouts

Note:

If the toolbar is enabled, these updated controls appear within the toolbar area.

Record Listing Button

The Record Listing button has been repositioned to improve visibility and access. It now appears below the main toolbar, making it easier to find and use.

This button remains accessible even when the toolbar is turned off. In smaller widget sizes, the button also scales down automatically so it remains usable without taking up unnecessary space.

What to expect

  • The Record Listing button is displayed below the toolbar

  • It remains available even when Display Toolbar is turned off

  • It automatically adjusts in size as the widget is resized

This update helps ensure that record access remains consistent, regardless of how the Calendar widget is configured.

Scale Controls in Smaller Widgets

When the Calendar widget is displayed in a smaller width, such as a 2-column widget, the scale controls automatically adapt to fit the available space.

Instead of showing separate buttons for each calendar scale, SmartSuite replaces them with a single dropdown menu. This keeps the widget clean and uncluttered while still giving users access to all available calendar views.

In smaller widget widths

  • The standard scale buttons are replaced with a dropdown

  • The dropdown includes:

    • Hours

    • Day

    • Week

    • Month

This responsive behavior makes the Calendar widget easier to use on smaller dashboards and helps preserve space without removing functionality.

To update a Calendar Widget:

  1. Enter Edit Mode:

    • Toggle View/Edit to Edit.

  2. Edit Widget Modal:

    • Hover over the widget

    • Click on the Edit button

  3. Save Changes:

    • Click Save Changes to apply the updates.
