The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Widget provides a convenient way to present a series of questions and answers on your dashboard. Typically placed on a tab labeled "FAQ," this widget is perfect for addressing common queries, explaining processes, or providing guidelines to help users find essential information quickly.

Rich Text Support: The FAQ Widget supports rich text formatting for the answers, including elements like bold, italics, links, bullet points, and more to enhance readability and provide comprehensive responses.

Styling Options: Customize the display of your FAQs with flexible styling choices:

  • One-Column or Two-Column Display: Choose between a single-column format for a straightforward presentation or a two-column layout to better use space and organize content effectively.

  • List or Accordion Display: Opt for a simple list format or use the accordion style, which allows questions to be expanded or collapsed. The accordion display helps maintain a clean and uncluttered look, especially when dealing with multiple FAQs.

The FAQ Widget is an excellent tool for conveying essential information in an organized, user-friendly manner, enhancing the overall experience for dashboard users.

Adding Widgets

Widgets are the building blocks of your dashboard, each offering a different way to display data, metrics, and content. To add widgets:

  1. Click "Add Widget"
    In the upper-right corner of your dashboard, select the Add Widget button.

  2. Choose Your Widget
    A popup will display SmartSuite's library of widgets, including text, charts, banners, and interactive widgets. Use the search bar or scroll through the categories to find and select the right widget for your dashboard.

  3. Customize Your Widget
    After selecting a widget, you can configure its settings (e.g., text, images, data sources, and layout) to match your specific needs.

Locate the "FAQ" widget from the Library.

The widget settings will display a "General" tab for managing the Title and description of the FAQs with the management of the Questions and Answers within. The Style

Set the Title and Description:

  • Enter a title and description for your FAQ section. This is optional and can be left blank if not needed.

Adding Questions and Answers:

  • Click "Add Question" to enter a question.

  • Click on the question to enter the answer. Use the text editor to format your answers, including adding links, bold text, and more.

  • Repeat this process to add multiple questions and answers.

  • Rearrange the order of questions by dragging and dropping them.

Customize the Style:

  • Choose between a one-column or two-column layout to best fit your dashboard design.

  • Select the answer style: Select between list style, which shows all answers at once, or accordion style, which allows users to expand and collapse answers for a cleaner look.

Once you are done creating, click "Add Widget" to add the widget to your dashboard.

You can move the widget to the desired location by hovering over the left dot menu and dragging it from the corner.


FAQ Widget Use Cases:

  1. Employee Resource Dashboard: Add an FAQ Widget in a tab labeled "FAQ" to answer common questions about company policies, benefits, and procedures, using rich text to include links to policy documents.

  2. Customer Support Portal: Use the FAQ Widget to address frequently asked questions about products or services, using the accordion style to keep the list manageable and focused.

  3. Product Onboarding: In a product onboarding dashboard, include an FAQ Widget with questions about setup, best practices, and troubleshooting to assist new users.
