The Banner Widget offers a simple yet versatile way to add a striking visual element to the top of your dashboard. Most dashboard pages use a visual banner at the top to help users quickly grasp the page's context, and the Banner Widget is designed precisely for this purpose.

Caption, Title, and Subtitle: Customize the banner’s content using rich text elements. The Banner Widget allows you to add a caption, bold title, and subtitle:

  • Rich Text Elements: Format each text component using options like font sizes, text colors, alignment, bold, italic, underline, highlighting, bullet points, and numbering, ensuring your crucial information is impactful and visually aligned with your brand.

Background: Elevate your dashboard's visual appeal by selecting a solid background color or uploading a custom image. This flexibility enables you to set the visual tone of your dashboard, enhancing branding or thematic consistency.

Buttons: The Banner Widget includes the option to add interactive Buttons. These can perform tasks such as accessing a URL, displaying a form, triggering a workflow, and providing clear pathways for user interaction.

Positioned at the top of the page, the Banner Widget sets the tone and context, combining aesthetics and functionality to create a professional and engaging user experience.

Adding Widgets

Widgets are the building blocks of your dashboard, each offering a different way to display data, metrics, and content. To add widgets:

  1. Click "Add Widget"
In the upper-right corner of your dashboard, select the Add Widget button.

  2. Choose Your Widget
A popup will display SmartSuite's library of widgets, including text, charts, banners, and interactive widgets. Use the search bar or scroll through the categories to find and select the right widget for your dashboard.

  3. Customize Your Widget
After selecting a widget, you can configure its settings (e.g., text, images, data sources, and layout) to match your specific needs.

Locate the "Simple Banner" widget from the Library.

Set Widget Parameters

In the Simple Banner Widget settings, you will see three tabs when creating the widget.

Content Tab

Enter the formatted text you want to display in the widget. You have rich text capability to create headings, adjust colors, hyperlink, and more.

Style Tab

  • Background Section: Choose a background color or upload an image.

    • Color: Choose from a color picker, enter a color code manually, or select from recently used colors and predefined SmartSuite colors.

    • Image: Upload an image to use as the background. You can adjust the image fit settings as needed. Options include Contain, Cover, Fill, and Scale Down.

  • Spacing: Adjust padding and widget width settings.

    • Padding options include S, M, L, and XL.

    • You can select a fixed widget width or extend the banner to the full widget of the widget.

Action Buttons: Add and customize action buttons, including their alignment, size, label, color, and actions (link to URL).

In the button settings, you create the button's label, select a color, determine the URL it will launch to, and specify if you want it to open in the same tab or new window.

Once you are done creating, click "Add Widget" to add the widget to your dashboard.
