General Tab (Content & Formatting)
This section allows you to enter and format the banner text with rich text editor (RTE) functionalities:
Caption, Title, and Subtitle
Add a caption for emphasis.

Use Dynamic Values in the Banner Widget
Dynamic values let you personalize banner content automatically based on the viewer or workspace context. Instead of typing static text, you can insert values that update in real time, such as the current date, current time, workspace name, or member details. This is especially useful for creating welcome banners, personalized home pages, and role-based dashboard experiences. When the banner is displayed, SmartSuite replaces the placeholder with the relevant live value.
For example, you could create a banner that says:
Welcome back, {{Member First Name}}
or
Today is {{Current Date}}
When viewed, the banner will show the actual member’s first name or the current date instead of the placeholder.
Depending on your workspace setup, the banner widget can support values such as:
Current Date
Current Time
Member Company
Member Department
Member First Name
Member Full Name

Member Type
Workspace Name
These values help tailor the dashboard experience for each user without requiring manual updates.
How to insert a dynamic value
Open the Simple Banner widget settings.
In the General tab, click into the Content editor.
Select the Insert Dynamic Value icon in the toolbar.
Search for or choose the value you want to add.
Click the value to insert it into your banner text.

Background Options
Solid Color: Select from predefined colors or use custom hex codes.
Image Upload: Upload a custom background image.
Image Fit Options:
Contain: Fits inside the container without cropping.
Cover: Fills the entire container, potentially cropping edges.
Fill: Stretches to cover the full space.
Scale Down: Shrinks the image proportionally to fit.
Spacing & Widget Width
Adjust padding: S, M, L, XL
Widget width:
Fixed: Respects the standard dashboard widget width.
Full Width: Expands across the entire dashboard width.
