Overview
The Rating field lets members rate records for ranking and other use cases. This feature is flexible and customizable, allowing users to tailor the scale, symbol, and color to suit their needs.

Adding a Rating Field
From Grid View:
Click the + menu icon after the last column header, or:
Open the Column Menu by clicking on a column header’s dropdown icon, then select "Add Field to the Right."
Choose "Rating" from the options. A configuration window will appear. You can also search for "Rating" by name.
From Record View:

Customizing the Rating Field
From the field customization settings, adjust the display format for:
Use the Scale dropdown to set the maximum rating (1 to 10).
Optionally, add rating labels for the bottom and top range (e.g., "Poor" to "Excellent").
Rating Field Notes:
The maximum number in the scale will always display in grey.
The selected color applies to active ratings.
Adjusting the Rating Value:
Click on the desired number of rating symbols.
Alternatively, type the corresponding number on your keyboard.
Clearing the Rating:
Practical Use Cases and Scenarios
1. Hiring Evaluations
Scenario: The Hiring solution in the SmartSuite Solution Library includes three default Rating fields within the Interview table:
Position Fit
Cultural Fit
Recommendation Strength
Solution: Use these fields to evaluate candidates consistently and quantitatively.
2. Feature Request Prioritization
Scenario: Gather user ratings for new product feature requests.
Solution: Use the Rating field to prioritize features based on user input.
3. Using Rating Values in Formula Fields
Scenario: Combine rating values in calculations for detailed analysis.
Solution: Continuing the Hiring example:
Create a formula field to calculate an Interview Score.
Formula: Add values from Position Fit and Cultural Fit, then multiply by Recommendation Strength.
Output: A numeric score ranging from 0 to 100.
