Edit Mode Overview

When you hover over any widget in Edit Mode, a border appears around it with several interaction options. These buttons allow you to:

  • Move widgets up or down within the layout.

  • Manually reposition widgets by dragging them.

  • Resize widgets to adjust screen space usage.

Widget Movement Options

  • Automatic Rearrangement:

    • Widgets of equal width switch places automatically.

    • Wider widgets adjust into new rows as needed.

  • Drag-to-Move Icon:

    • Click and drag the widget to reposition it anywhere within the dashboard.

  • Floating Button Panel:

    • Access quick action buttons like Move Up, Move Down and Edit and “…” icon which allows you to access Minimize, Highlight Color, Duplicate Widget, Delete Widget and Collapse by Default.


Editing, Resizing, and Moving Widgets

Editing a Widget

  1. Hover over the widget.

  2. Click the Edit Widget icon in the floating button panel.

  3. Modify widget settings to adjust its content, appearance, and behavior.

Moving a Widget

  1. Hover over the widget.

  2. Drag from the upper left corner to relocate it.

  3. Use the button panel arrows to move the widget up or down.

Resizing a Widget

  • Drag the edges of the widget to resize it.

  • Control how much screen space the widget occupies.

  • Adjust the layout to optimize adjacent widgets.


More Widget Options

From the three-dot menu in the button panel, you can:

  • Minimize the widget to hide its content.

  • Highlight the widget by selecting a background color.

  • Duplicate the widget to create another instance with the same settings.

  • Delete the widget if it is no longer needed.

  • Collapse by default to keep the widget minimized on initial view.

1. Customizing a Sales Dashboard

Scenario: A sales manager wants to organize widgets displaying key sales metrics.

Solution: Drag, resize, and highlight widgets to emphasize revenue, leads, and conversions.
