Document Designer allows you to create templates for your record output, combining visual elements like lines, boxes and static text with fields from your SmartSuite records that place those data elements on a printable page.

Document Designer can be used to create formats that prepare your SmartSuite record data for a variety of uses, from sales and marketing communications to invoices and statements. It's easy to get your record data in any format that you have created a template for by simply selecting the template when exporting to PDF.

Viewing and Modifying Document Designer Templates

To see the document templates that are configured for a table, or to create a new one, simply click on the Table dropdown arrow (for the Table you wish the template to be created in) and select "Document Designer."

    • Export Record Page. Clicking this option will export the current record using SmartSuite's default format

    • Templates. If you have any Document Designer templates associated with your Table, they will be displayed in a list. Click the one you want to use for your export.

  • Your PDF document will be generated and automatically downloaded to your computer.
