Managing your individual SmartSuite user profile

In SmartSuite when we talk about accounts, there are two concepts that are important to understand - there are SmartSuite workspaces and Member profiles.

Member Profiles are tied to individual users. Your Member Profile is linked to one or more SmartSuite Workspaces that represent an individual subscription to SmartSuite, each with its own environment. Through that SmartSuite Workspace, your Member Profile is granted access to Solutions and their Apps, Dashboards, Saved Views, and collaboration functions that connect you with other Members.


Creating a Member Profile

There are two ways to create a Member Profile - you can create a brand-new SmartSuite workspace and become the Primary Contact (i.e. the Administrator) for it, or you can accept an invitation to join an existing SmartSuite workspace.

Create a Member Profile and a new SmartSuite subscription

If you want to create all new profiles - a brand-new SmartSuite Trial workspace along with your initial Member Profile - that's easy! All you need to do is click Sign Up on the SmartSuite website.

Create a Member Profile from an invitation

When you receive an email invitation, you can follow these simple steps to create your SmartSuite workspace:

  1. Open the email titled Invitation to Join SmartSuite.

  2. Click on the Accept Invitation link.

  3. SmartSuite will open in your default browser.

  4. Follow the prompts to complete your Member Profile registration and activation.


Log in to SmartSuite

Logging in to the SmartSuite platform couldn't be easier! Just visit https://smartsuite.com and click Log In. Provide your workspace credentials (whether email and password, Google authentication, Microsoft authentication, or Apple Id authentication) and click Log In.

Log in with SAML SSO

If your SmartSuite workspace is on the Enterprise Plan you may have the opportunity to log in with Single Sign-On (SAML-2) if it has been enabled. If it has, your workspace will be authenticated with just your email address.

To log into your workspace with SAML enabled:

  • Visit https://smartsuite.com to get started.

  • Select Login.

  • Enter the email address associated to your workspace and leave the password field empty.

  • Click the Log In button.


Log out of SmartSuite

Ensure that your workspace remains secure by logging out when you're done using SmartSuite for a while - just follow these easy steps:

  1. Click your workspace profile photo in the upper-right corner of the screen.

  2. Click Logout.

  3. That's it - you're logged out securely!


Password Reset

If you've used your email address and a password to log into SmartSuite you can easily reset your password. Here are the steps:

  1. Click your workspace profile photo in the upper-right corner of the screen.

  2. Click Change Password.

  3. You will be prompted to send yourself a change password link.

  4. Open your email workspace and click on the SmartSuite Password Reset email.

  5. Click on the Reset Password button.

  6. Enter a new password.

If you are using an external system to login (Google, Microsoft or Apple) you will be presented with an option to set up a SmartSuite system login. Click the link to create a SmartSuite password that does not rely on an external provider to authenticate you.
