When you subscribe to a paid SmartSuite plan, you select how often you are billed, either monthly or annually. Keep in mind that you are offered a discount for paying annually!

If your needs change, you can always update your billing frequency, but you should be aware of the impact this has on your workspace and billing cycle.

How do I change my Billing Frequency?

Follow these steps to update your plan frequency:

  1. Log in as a Member (with the Administrator role).

  2. Click on your user profile icon in the upper-right hand corner of the SmartSuite interface to open your user profile options.

  3. Click Workspace Administration in the menu.

  4. Select the Plans & Billing tab.

  5. Click the Edit icon next to the current plan name, in the Plan Profile section.

  6. A list of plans will be displayed, along with a toggle for Pay Monthly and Pay Annually - adjust the toggle to your desired frequency.

Selecting a New Plan

When you click the Choose a Plan button, you will be presented with a dialog that allows you to pick the SmartSuite plan that's right for you. Your current plan's selector is disabled - you can just close the window to cancel out of the Change Plan process.

The two other plan options will have active selection buttons. Click one to select it, then confirm the choice on the following page.

What happens when I Upgrade My Plan?

If you upgrade your plan (i.e. move from Team to Professional, or Professional to Enterprise) your plan will change immediately after you confirm the change.

You will be billed for the prorated difference between your current plan's cost and the cost for your new plan through the end of your subscription term (the month or the annual renewal date).

What If I Downgrade My Plan?

Downgrading (moving from Enterprise to Professional or Professional to Team) causes your workspace to switch to that plan at the conclusion of your current subscription term.

For example, if you are on a Professional subscription with monthly billing and downgrade to Team Edition, you will still have the features and capabilities of Professional Edition until the end of your monthly billing cycle, at which point they change to those of Team Edition. Your billing will change to Team rates at that time as well.
