SmartSuite reserves the right to collect taxes as required by law. Depending on your organization's location, you may be subject to taxes when purchasing SmartSuite subscription plans or charged for additional usage.

Tax Overview

  • Your organization's address is used to determine applicable taxes

  • The prices we display on our Website do not include tax

  • The organization's address can be updated in Workspace Administration

United States Sales Tax

Recent tax changes in the United States have required SmartSuite to collect tax on your subscription purchase if you are located in certain states. Tax amounts are determined based on each State's rates and requirements.

The postal code entered for your company address will determine whether you are subject to tax for your SmartSuite subscription, as well as the exact state and local rates. Any sales tax amount charged will be included as a line item on your invoice.

Exempt Organizations

If you are a registered tax-exempt organization, please email us at support@smartsuite.com with documentation so that we can update your workspace accordingly. Please note that IRS 501(c)(3) status is not sufficient proof of state or local tax exemption.

VAT Refund

When you purchase a SmartSuite subscription in a country where VAT is collected, you are presented with the option to provide your VAT ID so that you won't be charged.

If you did not provide your VAT ID during your purchase and were charged tax, please reach out to us at support@smartsuite.com and we'll help you resolve the problem. You can also add your VAT number directly in SmartSuite Plans & Billing settings to apply it to future invoices and prompt a VAT refund on applicable charges.
