Who can set up a Slack automation?
Solution Managers and Administrators. If your role is General or lower, ask an Administrator to change your role or to build the automation for you.
How do I add fields from the record to the Slack message?
Open the automation and add the Slack action under Integrations, then choose Send Message.
Select the channel or person the message goes to.
In the message text, insert fields from the trigger record (for example the task name, status or due date) with the field picker, and write the surrounding text.
Save and test the automation with a real record.
Troubleshooting
Permission error: confirm your role is Solution Manager or Administrator.
A field is missing from the picker: the field must exist on the table the trigger uses.
Message not delivered: reconnect the Slack account in the action and check the automation run history.
