The Facebook widget shows a Facebook page, profile or feed inside a dashboard. Think of the company page's posts in a panel beside the work. You create the embed with Facebook's own tool, then paste the code into the widget.
Here is the test: is the content a Facebook page or feed that people should see beside their records? If yes, add this widget. For a LinkedIn post or a public Tweet, use the matching widget.
Example: a Vendor Management solution. The company's Facebook page announces the security program's public updates. On the onboarding tab of the Vendor risk overview dashboard, a Facebook widget titled Company page shows the page card with its Follow Page and Share buttons. A post opens on Facebook when a member selects it.

Adding a Facebook widget
Open the dashboard and set the View | Edit switch in the upper right to Edit.
Select + Add Widget. The Add New Widget sidebar opens on the right, with a search box (Search Widget) and 13 collapsible categories. Only Page Display is open to start.
Open Social Media and select Facebook. The card's info icon reads "Embed Facebook pages, profiles or feeds directly in your dashboard."
The Facebook window opens. The live preview is on the left and the settings on the right, on one tab, General. The preview reads Set a value for preview until you give it something to show.
Under Settings, paste the code from Facebook's embed tool into Embed HTML. The preview shows the page card.
Select Add Widget at the foot of the window. Cancel discards it.
The widget lands at the top left of the dashboard as a small block, with its title above the content. Hover over it and drag the pill on its right edge or its bottom edge to resize it; the width snaps to the dashboard's four-column grid. The dashboard saves on its own. There is no Save button.
The widget settings
The settings sit on the right of the window under two headings, Heading and Settings. Each collapses with the chevron at its right. The window's header holds a gear that shows or hides the settings, a three-dot More Options menu (Highlight Color, Duplicate Widget and Collapsed by Default) and an X. Close with the X after a change and the window asks whether you want to exit without saving. Its buttons are Exit Without Saving and Save Changes.
Heading
Title is the text shown above the widget on the dashboard. It is prefilled with the widget's name, so change it to what the content is, such as Company page. Description is a switch, off to start. Turn it on and a text box appears with a small toolbar: bold, italic, underline, text color, highlight, link, bullet list and numbered list. Two tabs set where the description shows. As A Tooltip puts it behind an info icon next to the title. Below The Title shows it under the title, and is selected to start.
Embed HTML
The only control: a text box marked Paste HTML code, with no helper line. Paste the iframe code from Facebook's embed tool whole. The widget takes the address inside that code and frames it on the dashboard. Anything you paste is rendered as code, even plain text, and no message appears for a wrong value: check the preview before you add.
The Facebook window: the page card in the preview on the left, Heading and the Embed HTML box on the right.
Getting the embed code from Facebook
The widget needs the code from Facebook's embed tool, not the page address. These steps happen on Facebook, not in SmartSuite.
Open Facebook's embed tool and design the embed for your page, profile or feed.
Select Get Code.
Open the IFrame tab and copy the code.
Paste it into the widget's Embed HTML box.
The embed shows what Facebook shows to a signed-out visitor. A page or post that is not public shows nothing.
Tip: Set the width and height in Facebook's tool before you copy the code, so the embed fits the widget without a second scrollbar.
Permissions
Solution Managers and members with Full Access add, change and remove widgets on a public dashboard. The owner of a private dashboard does the same on it. Every member who can open the dashboard sees the widget. What they see inside it is what Facebook shows to the public, not something SmartSuite controls. A dashboard shared by link shows everything on it to anyone with the link, this widget included. See Dashboard Settings and Public Dashboard Sharing.
Using the widget
In View mode the widget shows its title and the embed as Facebook renders it: for a page, the page card with Follow Page and Share. Posts shown in the widget open on Facebook when you select them, so you can comment or share there. Hover over the widget and a full screen icon and a three-dot menu appear at its top right.
Note: The code comes from Facebook's tool. A page address pasted on its own is not a code, and the widget renders it as text.
The live mobile guide lists the Facebook widget as supported in the SmartSuite mobile app; see Mobile Dashboard Widgets: Supported Features and Limitations Guide.
Editing a Facebook widget
In Edit mode, hover over the widget. A strip appears with a drag handle (Drag Widget), Move Up, Move Down, Edit and a three-dot More Options menu. Select Edit to reopen the window, change the code or the title and select Save Changes. Drag the handle to move the widget; a dashed placeholder shows where it will land. Duplicating and deleting are in the More Options menu, and the delete prompt names the widget; see Managing Widgets.
