The Progress Widget is super simple—yet incredibly powerful. You can sum any numeric or currency field in a table, set a goal, and visually track progress as you work.


Uses

Any numeric or currency-based metric can be tracked in the Progress widget. If it's a measurable SMART goal and you have a field in your solution to capture the value, the Progress widget can sum it.

Examples include:

  • Progress towards a Sales Goal.

  • Number of Leads towards a Marketing Goal.

  • Cumulative Volunteer Hours towards a nonprofit contribution.


Settings

Configuring the Progress widget is easy:

  1. Select the Field to Sum: Choose a numeric or currency field from your table.

  2. Set a Color for the Bar: Customize the progress bar’s color for easy identification.

  3. Define a Numeric or Currency-Based Goal: Enter the target value you want to track.

  4. Adjust the Widget Size: Resize it to fit your dashboard layout.


Widget Drill In

To view the records contributing to the progress value, simply click on the widget. A window displaying the associated records will open, providing detailed insights.


Practical Use Cases and Scenarios

1. Sales Team Dashboard

Scenario: A sales team needs to track monthly revenue goals.

Solution: Use the Progress Widget to sum the "Revenue" field from sales records and set a monthly goal. The widget visually indicates the progress towards achieving the goal.

Outcome: Improved visibility of team performance and motivation to reach targets.

2. Marketing Campaign Dashboard

Scenario: A marketing team tracks leads generated during a specific campaign.

Solution: Embed a Progress Widget in the campaign dashboard to sum the "Leads Generated" field and set a target for the campaign.
