The Yes/No field allows users to determine a selected or unselected state with various display options including images or toggles.

You can create a new Yes/No field by adding a new field with the Yes/No field type.

Adding a Yes/No field

From Grid View

Click the + menu icon after the last column header or open the Column Menu by clicking on a column header's dropdown icon and then select "Add Field to the Right."

Select "Yes/No," and a window will open to configure the field. You can also search for a quick find.

From Record View

The fastest way to add a field from an open Record View to is simply click the + sign next to a current field to add a new field below.

Customizing the field

Solution Managers have plenty of display formats to choose from with the Yes / No field. Selected colors apply to any of the display options.

Simply click into the cell or click enter when hovering over to change to the selected state.

If the display type is a toggle format, you can select and unselect by clicking inside the cell and clicking on the toggle icon image or hitting enter on your keyboard.

Using the Yes/No Field

The Yes/No field in SmartSuite can be used in various scenarios. For example, it can be used in forms sent to clients, where their response to a question can trigger changes in subsequent questions.

It can also be used for workflow automation, where certain actions are performed based on the user's selection of "yes" or "no".

Examples of Use

Set Flags for Saved Views

The Yes / No field is particularly useful in creating saved views, allowing members to sort, filter, group, and Spotlight records with binary values.

In a sea of competing priorities and finite resources, it may be helpful for product managers to flag features to include in a product release (like we do at SmartSuite).
